Project Rooftop is doing another redesign contest. This time around its Aquaman. I love Aquaman. I don't always love the comics but I love the character. He comes in all shapes and sizes. My favorite Aquaman was the recent Busiek/Guice run as part of the one year later bit. It was all underwater sword and sorcery with his sharky pal.
I'm going to be doing a few designs. The first one is Aquaman Redux. I know Aquaman isn't a god himself but I've always thought of him kind of as the "Thor of the Sea". He's supposed to be the king of Atlantis afterall. So for this design I looked to greek royalty, aquatic life, and mythology while still trying to give a head nod to the original costume, (hence the gold scaled panties.) I hope you like.
PS:the green on his body is supposed to be a tattooed map of the 7 seas, not algae. In a finished design it will have more detail and sea serpents, etc...

Nice! Algae could be cool, ...but maybe for the 'Santa Under the Sea' character (or maybe just for his greedy little water-logged elves! ) :D .
