I think I would make a pretty good addition to the X-men. Clearly if I had a mutant ability, which apparently I do, it would be to predict silly useless trends or one off jokes in future media. I was shocked when I drew my zombie captain america and then about a year later marvel released their marvel zombies line. Then I was even more shocked when I did my Thorilla illustration and marvel released Marvel Apes. At first I thought, "wow, I should be working for marvel." But most recently someone shared with me a few screenshots from the new family guy movie in which there is a scene depicting Dog the Bounty Hunter amongst the ranks of the Empire goons. Now I have come to the realization that I do in fact have a mutant power and it would be wrong of me to use my new found gifts for personal gain or greed.
Am I saying they stole my ideas? Of course not. All these things were in production well before I drew my little doodles. Also, they are pretty simple stupid ideas that anyone could come up with, and I'm sure many have come up with. I think this is more proof of a collective unconscious than anything else.
And lastly, if anyone wants to pay me lots of money for silly ideas I am open for bids.

Do you find that writing notes to yourself has been replaced by writing emails to yourself? I send emails to myself reminding me to do things then forget that I wrote them ten seconds after hitting the send button. My Mail "bings" at me and I think "oh, I just got an email." Only its the email I just sent to myself.

Sorry, but Dog gets to take a backseat this week to my new main man: STEVEN SEAGAL:LAWMAN!! If you haven't watched this new show go do it. It will make you smarter, faster, and stronger than you ever thought possible. You will achieve true oneness with your inner self and be able to accomplish anything you've ever dreamed. Look at me, I am writing this post with my mind while walking on water. Truly I too have become a zen master through a life long study of marshal arts.

Last week being Thanksgiving and all it was a little busy with the not traveling that happened. But we did make a kick ass turkey, stuffing, the best damn gravy this world has ever seen, green beans, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce... you get the idea. It was a very traditional meal. Anyways, here are some pictures from last week.

So Jamie and I went to the Humane Society on Sunday morning. We got there shortly before opening and found two cardboard boxes in front of the door. The boxes were taped shut with air holes punched in the top and the sides and a note attached as follows:
2 Cats, 2 years
Surprisingly one of the cats had already managed to tear its way out of the tiny cardboard box and was hiding behind a nearby garbage can. The other one was attempting to wriggle free through a small air hole. Jamie scooped up the cat behind the garbage and some other people who were waiting along side us grabbed the other cat who was trying to come out of the box. While the event itself was a sad, as in "who the hell who leave cats out taped up in boxes on the doorstep when its free to go in and surrender them?", I couldn't help but think "HOLY SHIT THIS IS THE BEST NOTE I'VE EVER SEEN!"

Sydney, November 27th, 2003 - November 14th, 2009
Sydney was a loving puppy who enjoyed cuddling and licking people's faces. On rare occasions you might even have found him singing or reciting poetry in the form of barks or his famous little woofy howls. He loved to be outside even when contained to his red wagon. He was an avid supporter of the dogs chasing cats movement and spoke very highly of his family and friends. We will love him and miss always.

So on top of everything I got a new machine and stupid ass canon didn't make drivers for the Lite30 to support newer OS's. Their website claims the driver was updated 7/29/2009 but unfortunately they are dirt filthy liars. The date on the driver when you open it is 2002. Supposedly you can get the scanner to work if you run photoshop in Rosetta however I find that when this happens it tells me the driver is missing. Thats right, even though I copied the canon plugin into the plugins folder it tells me that the driver is corrupt. So in conclusion; Fuck Cannon and I'm sorry I didn't update this in time for Dog Thursday.
As a side note, this probably won't make sense if you don't watch Dog, Wednesday nights on A&E. Television's home for arts and entertainment.

So I know I said no paid work only doodles, but here is some rough concept work I did a while back for this animation. It ended up looking cool. Plus I had to upload something old. I
've been way too busy with freelance/work/being sick/sick puppy/family in town/getting a newwashing machine/using my new compound miter saw to cut baseboards and chair rails/raking the ten billion leaves in my yard/revisiting old projects/putting together cheap ikea furniture to have the time to doodle something fun.

So last night I woke up in a sweat after I had a strange dream. I won't bore you with the details but just hit you with the gist of it: I was hanging out with my buddy Jon and his roomate, (in the dream), Biz Markie. They lived in an apartment with Biz Markie's mother who looked just like Biz Markie but with a wig and a dress on. As a snack she served us Rootbeer floats with garlic bread floating in them. It was a weird dream. And here's this illustration I made of it.

So I got hit up by one of my little cousins who was raising money for his school. While I wanted to give him more I decided I would donate what I could and then got bored and drew this on the front of the reply envelope. I was thinking "what do kids like?" Realizing I have no clue I just drew stuff I like instead.

Alright, this is a new thing. I'm starting it this week. I call it "DAWG Thursdays". Today is the first day of D-A-W-G . See, this is Dog. He is a bounty hunter. He's like a real world version of Boba Fett but instead of Slave One he drives around in an Escalade, and instead of space he hunts in Hawaii... or occasionally Mexico until he is arrested and flees the country. Fortunately he never falls into a Sarlacc pit and thus continues to make brilliant and engaging television.
